Most young girls grow up without strong female role models they can see and learn from. The Himalaya 1der woman Project is changing that by connecting young girls with real-life women champions who have broken barriers in sport and beyond.
After an incredible first season with the RCB women’s team inspiring budding cricketers on and off the field, 1der woman returns for Season 2 with a bigger, more inclusive platform designed to reach over 1 lakh girls across schools in India.
Through mentorship, skill-building content, and long-term support, the initiative helps every girl believe, “I can be #1 in my field too.”

Jabse maine Indian women's team ko World Cup jeetate hue dekha toh mera andar bhi cricketer banne ka jazba aa gaya hai. Papa bhi driver hain jinki only ₹12,000 salary hai aur vo afford nahi kar sakte. Main ek government school mein padhti hoon. Please, agar mujhe ek mauka milega toh main zaroor kuch karungi.

I was first inspired by the Champions Trophy played and won by our cricket team, but that was not my journey. I never used to think I can play cricket. That mentality was changed by our Indian women's cricket team. 1derWoman is not just a project, it can be someone's spark of interest in cricket. I truly love cricket. And honestly I know that many young girls like me are interested in playing cricket but are not getting the platform. 1derWoman is more than a project. It is an inspiration.
I want to play cricket quite seriously. I want to be in a cricket team and play for my country and win. And want to play with my idols and meet them, I am on RCB fan as well. I want to play with Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti, Jemimah etc and with other team members too
I want to be the always first choice wicketkeeper batter for the Indian team, in blues and in whites. 🤍💛
I would be honoured to be a part of this program. Cricket is a sport that I am passionate about and I strongly believe that this program could take my sports journey to the next level. I am a 14-year-old girl living in a rented house. My father works as a labourer. I come from a backward area where many girls do not get equal opportunities. Despite the challenges, I am determined to become a professional female cricketer. I believe that if I achieve my goal, it will inspire many families to support their daughters.

Future-proofing the next
generation of women cricketers.
The 1der Woman Academy will return. Until then, follow the journey.
With 1der woman season 2 we scaled the Himalaya 1der woman project further. In collaboration with Female Cricket, we reached over 50 schools and academies in Mumbai getting over 200 entries. Top 30 girls were selected from these 200+ entries for a 5-A-Side turf cricket tournament representing their respective academies.
At the finale, we crowned a winning team and runner-up, celebrating grit, teamwork, and passion for the game. The winning team received a three-year scholarship covering their academy fees, the runners-up were awarded professional cricket kits, and individual excellence was recognized with Orange and Purple Cap awards- presented by RCB players.
In 2025, India’s No. 1 face wash brand, Himalaya, brought the 1der Woman initiative to life with a powerful belief: girls aspire higher when they see women at the top. With the insight that 8 out of 10 girls grow up without visible female role models, the campaign created meaningful moments of inspiration by bringing budding girl cricketers from Bengaluru schools face-to-face with India’s No. 1 women’s cricket team, including Smriti and her teammates.
The initiative built strong brand love while sparking national attention across TV, print, and digital platforms around International Women’s Day- turning purpose into measurable impact.
